The problem with single-page websites is that they are very limited. There’s only so little that you can include which is a big disadvantage. There’s no actual limit to how much content you can include on one page, you can even write up to 10k words, but who’s going to read it? The attention span of readers is getting more and smaller and shorter, so, for readers to scroll through 10k words content can be a bit impossible.

Unless readers plan on reading that content over hours or days, not a lot of users will be able to check everything you include on your page. So, the secret with one-page websites is that they should be short and concise. 

Optimization

For your content to appear on Google on the first page, you need to optimize it with keywords and have a decent keyword density and LSI. But, with single-page websites, there’s not a lot of SEO opportunities. You can only optimize it for one keyword and can only rank for that keyword or another one that search engines will deem possible. That’s where multi-page websites have the advantage.

The problem with multi-pages websites is that they can be very distracting. There is a lot of information involved, which can be very confusing and distracting. Sometimes users won’t know which page to choose, and which content to read. 

Complex

Another disadvantage of the multi-pages website is that they can be complex for mobiles. That means that they can be hard to optimize for mobile versions as there are a lot of pages involved. One might become user-friendly, and one might not become user-friendly.
