No web page is complete without the inclusion of media. Media files include images, videos, and audios, that can be used to make the page more interesting with the visual and auditive extras.
What is the Media Library?
Access your Media Library from the menu, by clicking on Media -> Library. If you need to add new media files select the Add New option to upload it.
In the Media Library, you will be able to view, edit, and delete the files previously uploaded. Here you can also filter media, search, and delete files.
Filter by Type of Media or Date
The All media items dropdown lets you show all files or filter type or media that is unattached to a page. The date dropdown lets you pick by date of upload.
Delete More than One File at Once
Click on the Bulk Select button to select multiple files and delete them at the same time.
There are Two Different Views
You can switch between two types of views, the Grid view, and the List view, using above left icons displayed.
Using the Media Library Grid View
The Grid view displays the thumbnails of your videos, images, and audios in, you guessed it, a grid.
Click on the Image to go to the Attachment Details
If you click on an image thumbnail, you get an Attachment Details dialog where you can preview media and make edits on Title, Caption, Alt Text, and Description. It’s also shown the media file type, URL, dimensions, who uploaded it, and when.
Click on Edit More Details Button for More Functionalities
Here you can delete the media permanently and click on Edit Image to be able to change its dimensions, crop and rotate it.
Using the Media Library List View
The list view presents each media uploaded to your website in rows, ordered by uploading date.
The table also includes a column with a thumbnail image of the file, a file name that you can click to access the editing screen, the author, the page where the image uploaded to, the number of comments for that media, and the date of upload.
You can take bulk actions and immediate actions.
You have a tick box at the start of each row that allows you to select multiple media and delete them at once, using the Bulk Action selection at the bottom. You can select/deselect all files at once by ticking the box in the header. Take immediate actions for individual items, like editing, deleting and viewing, by hovering the cursor over the media row.
Attach Media that is Unattached
Hovering the row, you find a ‘+’ button that you can select. For unattached items, an Attach action is displayed. Click the link to attach the media to selected pages or posts. You can also find posts and pages searching by keyword.
The Columns are Sortable
It’s possible to sort column headers in ascending or descending order.
The Screen Options Button is on the Top
It’s where you can choose which columns the table will display, by clicking on the check-box for each category. Additionally, you can set the number of items presented in the table.
Add New Media
Select Add new to be able to upload new media files. Do it by clicking on the Select Files button or directly dropping the files inside the box.
There are nine types of file extensions permitted for upload: .jpg, .jpeg, .webp, .png, .gif, .mp3, .mp4, .webm and .pdf.
The exciting Free Images feature allows you to get free (CC0) images directly to the Media Library. All you need is to search by keyword to get tons of copyright free, high-quality pictures that you can use to illustrate your pages. Find the most popular or the most recently added by clicking on the filter options.
How to Work With Images
All media files are stored and managed in the Media Library. You have many ways and options to add media to your website posts and pages:
- Add images through pages and posts, uploading a file or choosing an existing one from the Media Library;
- Add images directly to the media library, where you can upload in bulk and then use them on your pages.
Automatic Compression and Resizing of Images
Avoori compresses the images uploaded to the media library automatically. This means you dont need to edit the image and compress it to be used on the web. In addition, you have the option to edit the image, like in the leading photo editing applications, by uploading the image to the image module, using the page designer, and adjusting the various filter options to make your image look seamless in the page.
Start Adding Media to Your Pages
There is no doubt that media files can make your website much more appealing, which, in return, makes visitors want to come back and revisit your website. Avoori’s Media Library will save and organize all your media files, enabling you to upload images directly to the media library, browse and download free images found online and use the page designer to add them to your pages and style them to best match your design style.
