Import, Export and Reset SEO Settings from Avoori, Yoast, All In One SEO, The SEO Framework and SEOPress

It’s important to back up your website but it’s more important to correctly backup your website SEO settings in an easily configurable manner. You may need these settings for importing it into another website or just keep a safe copy to revert back to someday.

To start exploring all of these settings, you need to browse to the SEO menu on the website admin and click on the “Import, Export & Tools” option. We will go through each one of the available options you see on the page in detail.

Export SEO Settings

The export button lets you export all the SEO settings you’ve configured for your Avoori website to a small and compact file. This file will have the .json extension. JSON is actually very similar to .txt (text) files, except there is a specific format to it.

For general information, JSON was introduced by Douglas Crockford and its format looks like this: { name:”John” }

Import SEO Settings

For importing SEO Settings from an existing or another Avoori website, you will have to provide a JSON file. The JSON file can be retrieved via Export SEO Settings. So you will always have to Export the file from somewhere first, to be able to import it to a different website or same website later.

Click Choose File, select the exported JSON file and hit import for it to work.

Import Redirections

The website redirection can be imported from a .csv file. There must be 4 columns available in the CSV file. These are:

  1. URL to match: Do not include your domain name in the URL
  2. URL to redirect in absolute format: That is the complete URL to redirect to
  3. Type of redirection: It could be 301, 302 or 307
  4. Yes to Enable: To enable the redirect, there has to be a “yes” value following these 3 cells. An empty cell or null value defaults to disable redirect

Export Redirections

Just like exporting SEO Settings, you can also export the redirections to be able to import to another website or later import to the same website. For example, you may have done a fresh install of a website on a new subdomain and want to feed in the redirections as it is on the previous website.

Just click the export button, and rest of the work is automatically done for you to download a CSV file with all 4 columns as needed for importing redirections.
