Just like a website is incomplete without social sharing, customizations are only complete when we cover for the social sharing configurations.
The Social Sharing tab offer customization options that will directly help to optimize the social aspects of the design.
Navigate to your website admin, browse to Appearance > Customize > Blog > Social Sharing.
You can rearrange the sharing buttons for the single post. For example, these are the sharing options available for the blog.
- Google Plus
You can simply click over any one, drag and drop over others to rearrange the order as per your preference.
You are able to exactly define the page position for the social sharing features for the blog.
These pre-defined options are:
- Before the Content
- Before the blog post content even starts
- After the Content
- When the blog post content completes
- Before & After the Content
- To display at both places, before the content, and after the content as well.
To choose an option, just click over the dropdown menu under the “Position” label in the Social Sharing panel
Add Social Name
If you want to display a social name alongside the social icons, you can enable this option to do so.
Just click the checkbox next to the “Add Social Name” label in the Social Sharing panel.
By default, you get the social sharing heading to be “Please Share This”. You can change it to your liking and preferences.
To do so, just type the text in the input box provided under the “Sharing Heading” label in the Social Sharing panel to change.
You can choose one out of the two display options for the heading of the social sharing features. These are Side and Top, pretty self-explanatory for how it will display the heading for social sharing.
Just click over the dropdown under the “Heading Position” label in the Social Sharing panel to choose any of the two options.
The Twitter handle is basically your Twitter username with @ sign in front of it.
For example, if your username is “Avoori”, the handle would become @avoori
Just type your Twitter handle in the input box under the “Twitter Handle” label in the Social Sharing panel.
You have 3 different styles available for the social sharing buttons. These are
- By default, it displays the icon in gray color, with some padding and a 1px square border
- The border-radius and color can be changed in the upcoming settings.
- The icons are displayed in white color, within a small colored box.
- The colored boxes showcase the social icon brand color.
- Displays exactly as the colored style, except the background, is a darker shade of gray unanimously for all the icons.
Just click over the dropdown underneath the “Style” label in the Social Sharing panel to choose the desired style.
The border style can be changed any of the given styles for the social sharing buttons. You can make it look sharp-cornered or a smooth rounded shape.
To do so, you will need to enter a number along with either px, em or %. These are basic units to measure the intensity of the effect. An increasing number will make the border-radius to be smooth and round, whereas a lesser number will make the border look sharp and cornered.
Just click the desired border-radius in the input box, under the “Border Radius” label in the Social Sharing panel to change it.
Borders Color (For Minimal Style only)
Additionally, you can change the border color for the social icons. This option is provided for the minimal style only though.
To change the color, just click the “Select Color” button under the “Minimal Style: Borders Color” label to choose any color.
Background Color (For Minimal Style only)
You can also change the background color for the social sharing buttons, only valid for use with the Minimal style.
To change the background color, just click the “Select Color” button under the “Minimal Style: Background Color” label to choose the desired color.
Color (For Minimal Style only)
The icon color can be changed as well, only configurable for the minimal style though.
Click over the “Select Color” button under the “Minimal Style: Color” label to choose the color of your choice.
